# Oven Relay > A holiday feast timeline planned backwards from dinner, for home kitchens with one oven. List the menu, the serve > time and the kitchen (ovens, dishes the oven holds at once, burners, cooks, a microwave or slow cooker). The page > reads the dishes, estimates their steps, works out a whole turkey's roast and fridge-thaw time from the USDA > timetables, and draws a free draft timeline as a Gantt chart with every oven, burner and hands-on clash flagged. > A metered run plans a clash-free timeline; a second run rescues the day when something runs late. URL: https://oven-relay.skillsafe.ai/ API: https://oven-relay.skillsafe.ai/api.html ## What is free (runs in the browser) - Menu reader: one dish per line; weights in lb or kg; "stuffed", "store-bought" and "make ahead" are understood. About 20 dish families have estimated steps (minutes, oven temperature, whether the step fills the oven or needs hands); anything else gets a labelled placeholder. - USDA numbers: whole-turkey roast times at 325 F (unstuffed and stuffed, by weight) and the fridge-thaw rule of about a day per 4 to 5 lb. Poultry is done at 165 F. Leftovers into the fridge within 2 hours. - Draft timeline: a greedy backwards scheduler places every step as late as it fits without overfilling an oven, the burners or the cooks' hands, and without two dishes sharing an oven more than 25 F apart. - Clash checker (X1, X2...): oven over capacity, temperature clash, burners, hands, a resource the kitchen lacks, starting before the earliest start, ending after serving, hot food done long before serving, short rests. - Gantt chart (rows per oven, burners, hands; oven bars coloured by temperature), run-of-show checklist, exports: Markdown, CSV, .ics calendar events with an alarm per step, JSON, a printable run of show. ## The two metered tasks (one system prompt, routed by `task`) - `plan` - the feast-day timeline: verdict `fits`, `tight`, `overbooked` or `need_info`; tasks with start/end times, the resource and the oven temperature; the moves made from the draft; what has to give when overbooked; food-safety lines; questions when the serve time or the menu is missing. - `rescue` - on the day: the time now, what went wrong, and the plan being followed. Verdict `on_track`, `shift` (move steps or the serve time), `cut` (drop or simplify a dish) or `food_safety_stop` (food out past the 2-hour rule, poultry not at 165 F). Returns moved and added steps, dropped dishes, a do-it-now list and one sentence for the guests. The page detects a 2-hour-rule breach in the note itself and requires the stop. Every line cites the page's ids (D dishes, S safety notes, X draft clashes, K steps, P problem facts), and the page re-checks the reply's timeline with the same clash checker. ## Honesty notes Step times and temperatures are estimates, except the USDA turkey timetable and thaw rule. Always check doneness with a thermometer. General cooking guidance, not food-safety advice for a specific situation. ## Sources Built on two SkillSafe skills: @lyndonkl/chef-assistant (https://skillsafe.ai/skill/@lyndonkl/chef-assistant) and @mhattingpete/timeline-creator (https://skillsafe.ai/skill/@mhattingpete/timeline-creator).
